DANCE INTEGRATION WITH POI TOPIC -“IMAGINATION”

Grade III students attended Dance integration class in connection with their POI topic Imagination.

‘Students are using different props with their imaginations.
Students were divided into groups and each group got a prop of their choice. The students discussed and came up with dance steps with those props like pot, stick, basket etc. They enjoyed creating the dance steps and presented it enthusiastically to their peers.



 

DANCE INTEGRATION WITH PROFILE -“REFLECTIVE”

Students of Grade II performed their Dance Integration as part of their POI topic "Balance Choices".

Students divided into two groups, one dance and the other watched, they spoke about how their body feels. Then the group that watched also danced and they reflected how their body feels after dancing. They spoke about feeling active, happy and energetic. They also spoke that they would like to dance rather than sit and watch. They were made to reflect, how school would have been if there were no dance classes?


DANCE INTEGRATION WITHCONCEPT –“PERSPECTIVE”

Grade I students learned Dance Integration as part of the POI topic "Communication". the little talents enjoyed the class with full enthusiasm and learned various signs and symbols like "mudras"- hand movements in dance. 

 

Sharing the Planet Conference



The second leg of Sharing the Planet Conference was held. The students working under Disaster Management, Conflict Management, Child Labour and Hunger took part in this competition. The discussion showed their in depth understanding of their issues and their passion towards to making a difference. As the students came up with action proposals they showed how the inquiry has led them towards taking sustainable action.





Busy Bees



Look at these busy bees! Completely engrossed in their preparation towards their final presentation of the PYP Exhibition! After  weeks of rigorous inquiry these talented children are working towards the grand finale. All of us are looking forward to witnessing a spectacular show.

A Proud Moment to Cherish

Oakridge student Ms. Phani Srineetha Maddineni of Grade XII made the school proud with her achievement in taking part in a course on Technology Entrepreneurship under Professor Tom Kosnik of Stanford University. She has taken this course as a part of High School Summer College Program for time duration from 23rd June 2012 to 18th August 2012. She earned an ‘A’ grade in the course with her hard work and focused effort. Oakridge wish her success in all her future endeavors.
