Student Reflection: The Christmas Cantata by Grades 4 and 6

\

The Christmas Cantata was a great success. The songs were melodious, and the music was soothing to our ears. We enjoyed it a lot. Santa Claus was probably the biggest success of all not only for the little kids but also for the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. All in all, we enjoyed it very much and can’t wait for next year.

Student Reflection on POI Topic “Currency”

Currency, our 4th POI topic, was really informative and it made me aware of the global statuses of many places. It helped me understand how the forms of money came into existence. We also went into the depths of understanding the evolution of currency.

Throughout the unit, we had 2 guest lectures and 1 field trip to the HDFC bank. Both the guest lectures were very interesting and informative and the field trip to the bank sure helped me learn a lot!

Inquiry was a very crucial part of this topic because we had to inquire the conversions and GDPs. A few students even got olden days' coins and paper currency! It was one of my favourite POI topics.

Gingerbread Man Visits Pre-primary

One of the all-time favourite treats for the holidays are gingerbread men. Their chewy, spicy goodness warms the mouth and warms the tummy, and are favoured by everybody.
Mrs. Pajaree, parent of Neil Chakravarthy from PP2C, came as a guest lecturer on 18th December to show us how to make the gingerbread man. She showed us the process of how to make the dough, roll it and bake it in the oven.  She helped each child to make their own gingerbread man and decorate with icing, frosting and the heart-shaped candies. As our ongoing Unit is “Expressions,” the children went ahead and gave facial expressions to the gingerbread. They had fun doing this activity besides eating the gingerbread men.
We would like to appreciate Mrs. Pajaree for her willingness to set aside some of her valuable time for this initiative.
