Field Trip to the Fire Station- Grade 1

This morning the students of grade 1 came to the class with a feeling of excitement of going for their 1st field trip. A lot of thoughts, confusions and imaginations, all was happening at the same time in the little minds. After the early snack we got into the busses and sang a lot of songs on the way to the fire station. The students also revisited the essential agreements and finally we were at our destination “Andhra Pradesh Fire Station”. The officials welcomed the students by asking them their names and then started the learning process. Students were told about how the firemen work with the equipment’s and how they are used. They also saw how a “big fire” is put off. Overall it was a learning session and the students came back with smiles and a lot more questions in their minds.
One thing that I as a teacher, definitely know that I have 14 boys in my class who now want to become Firemen.

With the Ease of a Click

Today’s rapidly changing world of information and its impact on scholarship, pedagogy and learning has inspired a deep examination of our operations, and we now begin a great transformation of our current library system into a flagship research library of the21st century.
Digital learning is any type of learning that is facilitated by technology or by instructional practice that makes effective use of technology. Digital learning occurs across all learning areas and domains.
With this thought in mind, the library department had taken up the initiative to provide digital learning with regards to research work.
Dr. Sudeshna, Head of Faculty, and the school librarians took a session with IBDP students to introduce them to the British Council online facility.
As we have taken a membership of British Council Library and through which we can experience their powerful online features including:
—   Facility to search our physical and online collections through a single search-box
—   Facility to view your current holdings and other information.
—   Benefitted for Research work.
—   Can be used for extended essays.
—  Your opinion will be essential to our success. I very much look forward to hearing from you and working with you.

Action taken

The best reflection on any learning can be judged by the action taken by a student where the child tries to put all his imagination and learning in the form of a craft or a project. The students of PP2 E made models, depicted and made PPT’s by which they conceptualized their understanding on “Homes”. Their verbal representation on their model was a true assessment on their learning. The teacher facilitates the process of gathering information but the students are the one who drives the inquiry further by their research skills.
