Remembering Gandhi

A special assembly was conducted by 2nd language student of Hindi .It began with a short prayer on Mahatma. As Martyrs day is observed by India to salute the martyrdom of the father of the nation – Mahatma Gandhi who lost his life defending the sovereignty of the nation on 30 January, 1948.  One minute silence was observed to salute the great leader. Further progressions took the students to the times when he was with us and made them aware of his beliefs and practices. One thing we can all learn from Gandhi’s life is standing up for what we believe in with two practices non-violence and speaking truth. It ended with rendition of the National Anthem and students felt pride coursing through their veins as they raise their voices in patriotic unity.
