Problem solving skit in Drama Class to develop Critical Thinking Skills

Students of Grade 4 and 5 learned about problem solving skit in drama class. Students were divided into four to five groups and were given one simple problem to solve in a form of a story.  Each group got different problem and were asked to solve the problem using critical thinking skills along with the drama skills. They got some very interesting situations to enact e.g.

“Waiting in a line to buy a ticket at the station, you realize that your wallet is missing.”

“The day you were supposed to return your library book you have realized that book is damaged.”

“You are waiting for the bus and you get an itch. It’s not bad at first, but it gets worse and worse.
“You are in a bus and notice an unpleasant smell, smell getting stronger”.
Students have thoroughly enjoyed this activity and were happy to solve the problem using critical thinking skills.
