Workshop on Classroom Management and Behaviour Management

workshop on Classroom Management and Behaviour Management was conducted by Ms.
Siby on 5thJuly, 2014 for the CIE teachers. The workshop was aimed
at effective classroom management in a class of varied ability of students. The
workshop emphasised the need for coming prepared for class and making sure that
every student is addressed. The average attentions span of a student age + 3
minutes, hence the need to keep the class attentive and focussed. The aim was to keep the class engaged with a
mix of activity, classroom teaching, videos and worksheets. The workshop was a
mix of lecture and activity which made it interesting and memorable. A
take-away from the workshop was for classroom strategies and rules to be
stressed to the students and being a role model for the students. It was a
great way to learn and will be extremely useful for classroom teaching.
The PD struck a great balance between lecture and interaction.
