It was a very good idea by grade 2 teachers to make the kids understand the use of MMTS. Along with kids, it was the first time for many parents too to travel by MMTS. Kids were very happy to see their friends also at the station. While travelling, it was nice to see them discuss about the other stations, talk about the sign boards, count the number of stations before getting down etc. The teacher Ms. Prashoba at Nampally station is also to be appreciated. Later coming home, we made it a point to use MMTS whenever possible. Thank you teachers. regards, Hema (Dhruva's Mom)
| | It was really a great effort.Kids enjoy the MMTS ride .They came to know different types of signboards displayed at the station.Kids understood the importance of the public transport, how it help us minimizing the pollution and it(MMTS) is faster than the car(car gets stuck in the traffic jam). They are developing a feeling of responsibility towards the society .I am looking forward for some more such activities. I thank OIS to develop awareness about the environment and society into my kids(and into us also)through such activities .It will really help them in their future to become responsible human beings. Thanks Sonali Karande (Shravan's mother) |
At the outset,I want to thank you, grade 2 teachers and Ms Anuradha for giving us and the children this learning opportunity. It was an experience that Pratin will cherish for a long time.I must acknowledge the effort that went into coordinating this exercise. A key learning for Pratin was the understanding of how integral is the MMTS system in the daily life of many people. He experienced journey with people from varied walks of life.He saw vendors transporting their wares in a separate compartment, the place earmarked for the physically challenged, ladies and first class passengers. He understood that there was a special police force (RPF) who are incharge of protecting the railways. We are thankful to the station master for permitting our young learners to visit his office and look at the various control mechanism. Overall it was an experience that was filled with fun and learning. An eye opener that an economical and convenient alternate transport system could be used to travel to various parts of the city. Thank you, Best Regards, Madhu. | | Aayush was waiting for this trip ever since it was announced in the class. The day it was announced he came home and gave me a detailed report about who was going to board from which station....we could see the excitement on his face and he could barely wait for the day to dawn....which finally did and for a change he got up on his own (welcome change for me!) and started getting ready for the ride. We carpooled with his other friends Varun and Moksha and went to the Hitech City Station. All the kids had so much fun at the station even before the train arrived. The train ride was very enjoyable and they even learnt about the route map and some non-verbal signs like 'no-smoking' which was there in the compartment. Overall it was a fun-filled exciting day.....they learnt it was fun to park your car and take the train whenever possible. Thanks for organizing this trip!!! Sudha (Aayush mom) |
It was a good experience for the kids...though we did miss the first train, quite scary the way it left the platform. We enjoyed the experience. Jhansi Sureddi

Anish enjoyed MMTS trip and looking forward for the next field trip. ------(anish) It was a different and nice experience even for us parents.samara was so excited about all those processes,i.e.,tickets getting, standing in the crowd ,watching outside when the train running etc.nice. Thank u, laly--------- (Samara) | | It was great to see a huge turnout of parents and children. It was a good opportunity for children to learn how the public transport system works in India. Children were able to put to use their experience from the mock ticketing/travel activity that was done in school earlier in the UOI. Great way to make a practical connection!
