The IV Graders headed to the Art & Craft Exhibition at NTR stadium near Indira Park in connection with their POI topic, Trade. At the exhibition,various artisans from across India showcased their work in the form of arts, crafts and culture.
The children enjoyed the stalls displaying weaves, woodwork,bead work, jewellery, clothes, metal work and local crafts of each region of the country. Most of the girls rushed towards handmade jewellery, while the boys got engrossed in asking questions on how the old-fashioned wooden top or engine was assembled. Armed with a list of questions, the children inquired about the raw materials, the process of making the finished product, cost incurred and profits made.
By the end of the trip, the children understood the colour, diversity and talent of India and its rich heritage and appreciated that most of the items were handmade!!
