Saluting the Nation...
Oakridge Int'l School,
Newton campus was host to Independence Day celebrations. There was an air of
festivities and cheer as excited children took part in the various cultural
celebrations. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr.Rajashekhar Babu Managing
Director, People Combine. Mr.Rajashekhar Babu took the ceremonial salute and
hoisted the flag. Speaking on the occasion he called upon the students to keep
the spirit of the country flying high by making meaningful contributions to
society wherever needed. Mr.Biju Baby the Vice Principal also shared his
thoughts reiterating the fact that one should not take freedom for granted but
should be responsible and accountable for his/her actions. The cultural
program showcased among other things a dance by the Senior School and a song
rendered by the students of the Sphoorthi program. The Head Boy and the Head
Girl took the pledge and it was heartening to see everyone pledging their
allegiance and support to their country.
