Job-Alike Session for Govt Teachers on the Occasion of Teachers’ Day
Oakridge never lets an opportunity pass by to do its bit to the lesser privileged and this time as a CAS initiative we collaborated with India Literacy Project and brought together 20 Government school teachers and Oakridge teachers on 11 Sep. 14. The guest teachers arrived at 1.00 pm and were given a warm welcome.
They came from Mastan nagar Govt Primary School, Parvathanagar Govt School, Madhapur
Govt School, Kothaguda Govt school, Anjaiahnagar Govt School, Gachibowli Primary
School and Babbuguda Govt Primary School were showed round the school and then
after a welcome address by the VP, Ms. Hema, the guests introduced themselves
and then some of them shared their experiences of the challenges faced by them
and how they overcome them. Our senior and experienced teachers Ms.Kusumaba, Ms. Anuradha Vanta and
Ms Suchismita gave simple yet doable tips to overcome their challenges. Ms.Hema
Chennupati played the moderator and punctuated them with wonderful advices as
when the opportunity arose. She appreciated the teachers for their optimistic
approach in spite of the hurdles and limited resources that they have. It was a
wakeup call for us who always crib that we need more resources. All in all it was an interactive and learning session for both the
parties. Our generous VP gifted them with goody bags and we treated them to tea
and snacks before biding them goodbye assuring them that we will stand by them
and work as a catalyst in achieving 100%
literacy in India and in improving the quality of education .This is just the
beginning as we have decided to go back and interact with the students more
often. The teachers of Oakridge too want to give back to society by going to
the school once every month and teach the kids. It sure would be a gratifying
experience. Thanks to Manmohan Jain Ji, Chairman, India Literacy project who
conceived this brilliant and noble idea. Ms. Shalini Samuel CAS Coordinator
