During
the unit of inquiry into “Healthy habits” students of Grade 2
learnt about making balanced choices for a healthy lifestyle. It was an experiential learning for the students where they were allowed
to make their own choices from a wide range of food items under one roof. The best observable aspect during this
activity was the excitement that was shown by each participant. They looked
forward to this gustatory fest with lot of anticipation. The spread included
eatables from the all the six food groups. It was a visual treat to see the
kids filling their plates with their food choices. The class teachers monitored
their habits of hygiene and table etiquette and also recorded the preferences
of food made by each child. The parent volunteers were of great support to the
class teacher in arranging the buffet and helping them serve.
