We always
tend to think that yoga is for adults, which helps them release their stress
but it is amazing to know that children derive enormous benefits from yoga. It
enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness. Our
Grade 2 children learnt many things in their UOI Topic “Healthy Lifestyles”
including practice of yoga in day to day life. Seeing the kids connect in the
best of ways to yoga pushed us to take this as an
opportunity to invite the parents and share creative way to meditate and build
bonds of joy with the children. In this session we helped each one experience
the benefits of daily meditation through simple and fun techniques that can
incorporate in our daily routine.
The
response to this initiative was really gratifying. Parents were very sportive
to spare time from their busy schedules to come and join us. We really
appreciate the effort.
