In connection to our unit of inquiry ‘EMERGENCIES’ Grade1 students went on a field trip to the Fire station on 7th April, 2011. It was a very informative session for our learners. Learners gained knowledge on safety rules and what precautions should be taken if there is a fire around their surroundings. They even learnt about the different types of fire extinguishers and their purpose. A demo was given to the learners on how the fire fighters help in extinguishing the fire with the help of hose pipe. Children also witnessed a demo on rescue operation during any such emergency situation. Overall it was wonderful experience for the learners and they showed lots of enthusiasm during the trip.
