While stars twinkled in the hot summer sky and DJ Kanna's music enlivened the environment, the students of Oakridge International School danced the night away with members of the staff in their party clothes, in a background resplendent with colours and decorations. They truly lived up to the theme 'Bling It On' for the farewell party hosted for Grade 12 (2010-2011).
It was a trip down memory lane for the students as they reminisced about the time they spent at school, nostalgic about the bittersweet memories they were going to hold close to their hearts forever. The farewell was held on the 6th of April at OIS signalling the end of the gruelling hours of study they had put in and the stress and strain of writing the exams. It was good to see the students, carefree, relaxed and enjoying their last day at school.
Jayanth was adjudged Mr. Oakridge, while Supriya Chak won the Ms. Oakridge title. Karan was awarded the title of the most popular student. Many awards were given away and performances by the students were accompanied by cheering and lots of excitement. It was truly an evening to be remembered.
We wish the students all the best in all their future endeavours and hope they succeed in whichever field they choose to pursue.
To quote Bono at his graduation, "The world is more malleable than you think and it’s waiting for you to hammer it into shape."
