Oakridge, being one of the most popular International schools, practices various learning methods and is one of the best hosts for developing their teachers professionally. One such workshop was on “Differentiation” conducted by Ms. Poornima & Ms. Laxmi who is associated with CFBT (Center for British Teachers) on 2 January’2012.

‘Differentiation’ means the ability of a teacher to be able to cater to the needs of every child in a class .Differentiation provides opportunities for students with various abilities to collaboratively achieve a common goal. Various aspects are taken into consideration while implementing the concept of ‘Differentiation’ in a classroom, for example, the content, product, and process based on Students Readiness, Interest or Learning Profile. By identifying various learning styles like Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic, children with various abilities can be well addressed.

Few of the key activities learned during the session to implement a differentiated Learning in a class were Multiple Intelligence tests, Case Studies for adapting Differentiation by process, product and content.

This Workshop was attended by teachers across various disciplines and was well integrated with the overall curriculum.
