Field Trip – Alliance Française

On the morning of 18th June, 2014, the Language II French students of Grade 9 were taken to an institute called Alliance Française as a field trip. Alliance Française is a non-profit organization which teaches the French language. It is located in Banjara Hills, Road Number 3.
When we reached the place, we were taken to a library. There were books of various sorts in the library – novels, magazines, comics and many others. All of this were either written or translated in French. These books were open for us to read. They were sorted into levels according to the use of the literature and language of French. We also had a short pronunciation and vocabulary test by a person working there.
After spending some time in the library exploring books and reading them, we were taken to eat some of the famous French cuisine dishes. There were many dishes kept there and we could buy them.
Next, we were taken to an auditorium where we were given a presentation on France – the cities, famous monuments and known games. We had a fun interacting session with the presenters and the director who spoke to us about their motive of starting Alliance Française.
Overall, we had a really good time there – it was informative, fun and interactive. We got to know a lot and our knowledge about France increased. I hope we keep visiting such places to gain even more knowledge.
