June 18th marked the inaugural of Professional Development workshops for teachers at Oakridge. Speaking on the occasion the group Managing Director , Mr.Rajashekhar Babu shared his vision of the school with the teachers. Addressing them he said the school has made rapid strides since its inception and is slated to a bigger growth in the coming years. Keeping abreast of the changing times he urged the teachers to acquire skills that would give them the required competencies to face challenges in an ever changing world. He also reiterated the need to develop core skills among teachers that will set them apart as leaders; in particular he spoke about time management.
His address was followed by a short talk by the Vice Principal Ms.Jyothi Turaga who began her talk with a quote that “He who knows not and knows not he knows not: is a fool who should be shunned. He who knows not and knows he knows not: is simple and open to learning. He who knows and knows not he knows: is asleep - wake him. He who knows and knows he knows: he is wise - follow him.”The students she said belong to the third category who are aware of things but only need motivation and direction which teachers as facilitators can provide. She pointed out that in her short interaction with Mr.Rajshekhar Babu she found him to possess all the qualities of a leader who believes in the vision he has envisaged for himself.
