Stories have been shared in every culture as a means of entertainment, education and preservation of culture and they have also been used to instil moral values in children.
Oakridge International School, Newton campus organized a rhymes and story telling workshop for its teachers on Saturday 18th June 2011 . The workshop was conducted by Ms. Shaheen Moidu who is the founder of Shaheen niketan Pre- School and has got over 30 years of teaching experience.
It was an interactive story telling workshop where the teachers were provided with an opportunity to explore new skills and ideas for story telling and different media( i.e flash cards, flannel board ,finger puppets, hand and stick puppets) that can be used for an effective story telling session. The workshop also emphasized on voice modulation and body language during rhymes and stories to make it more effective for the child. The teachers were actively encouraged to participate throughout the workshop and had fun while learning.
Ms Shaheen Moidu is a true inspiration for all our young teachers and we look forward for more such interactive and lively session in future.
