Character is more
important than intellect, said Capt.Rohit Bajaj, Principal, on the occasion of
the Investiture ceremony of the Senior School, which happened last week.
He called upon the students of the new prefectural board to make the
right choices so that they could become role models and navigators of a corrupt
free society.
The ceremony
started with a hymn eulogizing team spirit, followed by a prayer by the
Principal. Next came the handing over
of the school flag by Azaan Ali and Ramya Baddam, the Head Boy and Girl,
respectively, to their successors, Srimukh Oddiraju and Palashika Bhatt.
Azaan Ali spoke
on the occasion about leadership and said that being a leader was not about the
position held by the leader, but the kind of relationship he established with
others while Ramya Gaddam spoke of how being Head Girl had developed confidence
in her.
The
new body of prefect council also received their appointment letters and badges
by the Principal. The newly elected members of the student council took the
oath administered by the Principal declaring to abide by the creed of their
Alma mater and fulfilling their duties according to their respective
portfolios.
Parents
of the newly elected student council were invited to be a part of this event.
One could see the pride writ large on their faces as they witnessed their
children walking up the stage and donning their new roles as leaders of the
school.
Finally,
the National Anthem brought down the curtain on the Investiture ceremony which
is one of the defining moments in a student’s life.
