Anti-bullying Alliance for ‘Zero Bullying: Whole School Program’

The ‘Zero Bullying: Whole School Program’ had been paving the way for celebrating ‘Anti-bullying Day’. On this day, an ‘Anti-bullying Alliance’ meeting was held at Oakridge Newton Campus. The Alliance included members of the ‘Anti-bullying Squad’ i.e. junior and senior school students, senior management team, junior school coordinators and team leaders, senior school coordinators and members of the administrative staff.

The meeting started off with Dr. Shakila Naidu addressing the gathering and talking about the importance of bullying prevention in schools.  The role of bystanders, reporting a bullying incident and immediate response were highlighted to the audience. During the meeting, the students of Grade V put up a skit showcasing a bullying incident and what happens when you don't get help versus when you do get help.

The prefects from Grade XI sang a song and made a presentation on bullying. The prizes for various competitions held as a part of ‘Zero Bullying: Whole School Program’ were distributed by Principal Capt. Rohit Sen Bajaj, Junior School Headmistress Mrs. Hema Sanjay and Vice-Principal Mrs. Hema Chennupaty.

The Counseling and Supportive Instruction Unit presented an ‘Anti-bullying Charter’ that acts as promise — to not bully others, help others who are bullied, and to always report incidents of bullying. All the members of the Anti-bullying Alliance and the students who are a part of the Anti-bullying Squad signed the Charter and were given badges for being a member of the Anti-bullying movement. The meeting came to an end with the school choir singing the National Anthem.
