CBSE Grade XI

for the parents .

An orientation programme for the parents of Grade XI students was held
in the multipurpose hall on the 5th of June at OIS. The session took
off with an ice breaker which had the parents actively participating.
This was followed by a short speech by the Vice Principal Ms.Jyothi
Turaga. Ms.Jyothi Turaga started her address with a quote from
Shakespeare's Seven Ages and spoke about the adolescent years as being
the most difficult phase in a child's life requiring a lot of
attention and understanding. She also spoke about the efforts made by
the school in developing leadership qualities among children by way of
a comprehensive programme that focuses not only on academics but also
in honing the creative aspects in a child through CCEP and CAS. This
was followed by a session on parenting by Mr.Srinivas Educational
Psychologist. The session brought forth a very active response from
parents who could interact and find solutions to problems that they
face in communicating with their teenage children. The general
feedback from the parents was very encouraging and I am sure they look
forward to more such sessions in school.
