Students' reflection on CAS Activity

On the 6th of September we went to Kasturba Gandhi National memorial trust. We went with a good intention to teach the students something fruitful which they would cherish for life. There were many different groups with different activities. Some of them were basketball, Cricket, Drawing, Origami, Guitar, Music and ICT. The students over there varied in age, from 3 to 19 years. They grasped what we taught them very quickly and are very fast learners. We all enjoyed and learnt different things with them and from them.
We met a student whose name was Suresh he studied in 6th grade. We taught him basketball and we observed that he had the potential to do better than us at basketball. We taught him the basics and he wanted to learn more and more! Everyone was very enthusiastic and curious to learn different things which also motivated us to do better.
We met another girl her name was Pooja. She was in 6th grade and was very interested to take part in every activity being taught. First she went to the origami activity and made a dog out of paper and it was her first time! She draws very well as well. All of them are very talented at different activities. It was a very good learning experience for us as students because we got to showcase the different talents we have which we don’t get to do every day! They also taught us various things like this girl whose name was Srilaxmi taught us many Telugu songs and we really enjoyed learning them as well.
The CAS activity helped us improve on our skills like social and communication skills. Students from our class have different plans on have to improve the orphanage’s environment and we soon hope to implement those plans. If we have a chance we would love to visit the Memorial trust again!
