I appreciate
the GCC initiative taken by school. Children are motivated to surpass
themselves on a day-to-day basis and see how they progress. The tantalizing
thought of taking the lead at a global level is very motivating, at least to
Loïc. It fosters team spirit with a common objective in view.
Just for the
anecdote: the day Loïc got the pedometer, it was raining a lot and so he could
not go out to play. He turned and turned around the dining table about 500
times to kick start his pedometer reading. Although it was carrying it a bit
far, I liked the spirit in which he has done this: "Let me not wait for a
better tomorrow, might as well get cracking today." Then the idea of
"Everything in moderation is good" dawned on him. And this routine of
noting down the pedometer reading every day and resetting the pedometer,
instills a sense of routine and systematic approach among children.
