The
counseling & supportive Instruction Unit under the guidance of the School
Psychologist, Dr. Shakila Naidu at Oakridge International School had organized
awareness program for the week of special learning needs. As a part of it, the
student volunteers of Grade V & VI conducted the assembly.
The assembly
began with a prayer followed by a group song. The theme of the assembly was “inclusive
Education”. Information which was of relevance with the children was also shared.
The thought for the day was “Life is full of challenges, How you handle these
challenges is what builds the character, Never be afraid to be who you are” by
Erin Bro Cko Vich, a famous dyslexic was given to support the theme.
A skit was
performed by the children to spread awareness of the difficulties children face
and the kind of support given to them to overcome difficulties. Appreciation
certificates were given by the Principal, Mr. Rohit Sen Bajaj to the Grade XII
students who had volunteered last year for the week of Special learning needs.
