Grade 1 Drama Activity Showcase: “To be an Actor, You have to be a Child”

“To be an Actor, You have to be a Child” — Our Grade 1 students proved it so well.  Grade 1 Activity Showcase was held from 25–27 February, 2014.  Each and every student participated and performed in Drama. They enacted many stories. They performed a hilarious play called “Tikki Tikki Tembon No Sarimbo Hari Kari Bushkie Peri Pem Bo”— audience loved this laugh riot. They enacted two famous skits “The Three Little Pigs” and “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” which again were very hilarious.

The students enthralled the audience with the “The King and the Shirt” which carried a different perception and also a moral. There was another hilarious play “The Power of Rumour” with the moral: We should check the rumour before acting on it.

The versatility of the stories along with the confidence of our budding actors amazed the parents. The audience was spellbound at the professional approach these young actors showed throughout. According to many parents, “They have seen 100% confidence in Drama performances.” In a dramatic play, children break through the walls of reality, pretend to be someone or something different from themselves, and dramatize situations and actions to go along with the roles they have chosen to play.
