Fire drill conducted by Oakridge on 12th March was very apt for the
students of Grade VI working for PYP Exhibition Issue ‘Natural Disasters.’ Human
response to disasters falls under one of the lines of inquiry and students were
able to make connections between their theoretical learning and the live
demonstration by themselves in school.
Precautionary measures before, during, and after disaster were well
understood. Students were also able to reflect and evaluate on how much time
was actually taken, why it happened so, and what they should do next time to
evacuate themselves faster from the class to the soccer field. It was a very
interesting learning for the students.
