The Chairman's Cup March 2014 — Grades VII and VIII



The Chairman’s Cup March 2014 — Rounds 9 and 10 — were conducted on 12th March for Grades VII and VIII.  

The Chairman’s Cup Winners — Grade VII
The topic for Grade VII in Round 9: “Should History be compulsory in schools”?

The Winners of Round 9: Grade VII F represented by Shriya and Raj Aryan. The Runners-up: Grade VII G represented by Falaq and Aadhya; Grade VII J represented by Sadhvika and Tanvi.

Round 10 topic was the much-debated “Should violent video games be banned”? The students debated with gusto and researched the topics before presenting their case.  

The Winners of Round 10: Grade VII H represented by Dave and Charitha. The Runners-up: Grade VII G represented by Jenny and Nidhi Sai. Grades VII J and VII F were the joint Third-place Winners — they were represented by Ishaan and Pradyumna of Grade VII J and Varun and Pooja of Grade VII G.

The Chairman’s Cup Winners — Grade VIII
Grade VIII debated on “Is Peer pressure more harmful than good?” in Round 9 and “Should attendance be made compulsory in schools?” in Round 10.  

The students expressed their opinions convincingly and had the audience nodding in agreement to their views. The Winners of Round 9: Grade VIII J represented by Sri Teja and Aneesh. The Runners-up: Grade VIII G represented by Muffaddal and Siddharth; Grade VIII H represented by Jaswanth and Remi.

The Winners of Round 10: Grade VIII J represented by Ananya and Suha. The Runners-up: Grade VIII H represented by Sivamsu and Soumya; Grade VIII G represented by Vinith Sai and Lokesh.

The Chairman’s Cup — Judges
The programme was judged by Ms. Sudha, Ms. Nagamani, and Ms. Suhasini who gave the students valuable inputs. 

The Chairman’s Cup — Comperes
A huge round of applause for the students who compered the Chairman’s Cup and encouraged all the participants. The comperes for Grade VII: Sanjana and Amisha; Karneet and Vaishnavi. The comperes for Grade VIII: Himika, Satya, Armaan, and Rithik.
