Inter House competitions form an integral part of the school curriculum and are aimed at highlighting the importance and spirit of sportsmanship. The Students participate in all competitions house wise with verve and gusto. The four houses not only symbolize high values, but at Oakridge our students are also trained to be messengers of these values, not only within the school boundaries but to take them far and beyond.The Senior School Inter House Quiz Competition was held on 9th September 2011. Quiz not only provides us with fun but at the same time promotes our knowledge, increases our information, helps us to learn, to discover and to communicate with others. The Quiz had all the four houses contesting keenly and vying for the top three positions. From each house there were 4 participants- 2 from grades 7,8 & 9 and 2 from grades 10, 11 & 12.It had Ms Babitha Srikumar as the Quiz Master testing the wits of the participants on a variety of topics. The questions were categorized in different sections like General Knowledge, Current affairs, Sports, History, Literature & Entertainment. At the end there was a Rapid Fire and Audio Visual round which was very interesting and exciting. The quiz was very competitive and each house tried their best to gain points. Ms Shalini Priya helped us throughout the contest and Mr. Samuel contributed with technical support in the Audio Visual Round.
To maintain an element of suspense the houses were given codes (names of precious stones).Ms Arshiya Bari was the timer & the Scores were maintained by Ms Anusha, Ms Anuragini & Ms Shravya. Ms Rajani helped supported the audience round with a group of student volunteers. The competition was a huge success and was enjoyed by the participants and audience alike.
