The morning of 2nd September saw young Oakridgers step into the roles of diplomats. It was the inaugural ceremony of OAKMUN, yet another initiative by Oakridge providing a platform for the students to debate on issues of global concern. Mr.N.Manohar, Speaker, Legislative Assembly was the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion he called on the youngsters to be well informed and aware of everything happening around them as global citizens. Mr.Manohar also reiterated that the youngsters constitute the future of the country and hence it is imperative that they cultivate the values of commitment and a greater sense of focus to issues around them. He congratulated the school for providing the students with a platform that gives them a good exposure to world issues and also empower them to deliberate and build skills in diplomacy and compromise.
The Principal Capt.Rohit Bajaj addressing the gathering spoke about the OAKMUN as an educational opportunity and a learning experience. Capt.Bajaj also reaffirmed that the motto of OAKMUN will always be to create leaders of tomorrow.
The conference was declared open by the Secretary General Rohit Reddy. OAKMUN we hope will herald the beginning of a new change in students and an awareness to seek solutions to the manifold issues that need an immediate redressal.
