Day-1

This was my first day in Kerala. We could see the greenery from the airport itself. We a collected our luggage and went to Cochin in a bus. There we saw a dance performance called Kathakali, the traditional dance form of Kerala. The performers dressed up creatively and put a good performance. Next, we went to the hotel. we had a pleasant dining area. We stayed in Cochin for 1 day.

Day-2

Today we had a long drive from Cochin to Munnar in the morning. We left the hotel after a regular breakfast. We drove through the Nilgiris (The mountains of South India) and finally arrived at our hotel. We checked into the sterling resorts, a very spacious and elegant hotel.

Our dining hall was excellent as it was a spacious, room. After dinner there was a martial arts performance. We also went shopping in town where I bought some souvenirs for my friends.

Day-3

Today was our second day in Munnar.

The best part of the day was that we went for a hike in the Ervakulum National Park in the Nilgiris which was at an altitude of 8188 feet above sea level. At some points, the high altitude was a bit scary as the height seemed huge but we saw a lot of mountain goats climbing around the hills. After returning to the resort, We had a bonfire outside along with some music and dancing. We stayed overnight in Munnar.

Day-4

Today we had a long trip back to cochin. Once again, IT WAS 6 HOURS.

The drive through the Nilgiris was pleasant. We watched some movies on the tv in the bus. Then we reached Allepy where we enjoyed the backwaters cruise. It was a beautiful ride with water all around us and paddy fields surrounding the water area. After the ride, we started our journey to the hotel. This time we went to a different hotel than what we had earlier. These hotels were surprisingly different as a group of 8-10 children could stay in one room.

In each flat, there were two bedrooms and one tv room. This hotel was the best in the whole trip.

Day -5

TODAY WAS OUR LAST DAY IN KERALA. IN THE MORNING WE ALL PACKED OUR BAGS AND WENT TO OUR BUSES. BEFORE GOING TO THE AIRPORT, WE WENT TO A PLACE CALLED WONDER-LA. THERE WERE A LOT OF LAND AND WATER RIDES. FIRST, WE WENT TO THE LAND RIDES. THEY WERE INTERESTING. Mostly the kids did water rides. There was also a water laser show. At 3:oo we went to the airport. On our way back, we reflected on our journey and things that we learnt during the trip. We learnt about the classical dance and the Martial art of Kerala, We saw beautiful mountain goats which stood steady on the slopes of the green luscious nilgiri mountains and the best of all…the backwater cruise.

But we learnt one most important thing….how to be independent and take care of ourselves!
