In an age of globalization MUNs are fast becoming a tradition in every school not only because they provide a good platform for students to develop their debating skills but also make them aware of problems concerning the world. The students at Oakridge were a part of yet another MUN hosted by the Hyderabad Public School on the 21st of October.

Asifa Hashim the teacher advisor who accompanied the students reports

All the delegates sent by OIS Newton Campus went well prepared. They took with them their experience of the OAKMUN and many other conferences that they had attended. Seven very confident and well informed delegates made impressive speeches, asked relevant questions and came up with accurate answers to questions put to them by members of their respective committees. While Joseph was witty, Aliza was equipped with facts and details of the issues discussed in ECOSOC. Mehek spoke with conviction and clarity and Lucy was precise and good humoured. All delegates presented their points of view in clear, easy to understand language and well-structured manner.

The Crises situations were handled deftly.

Discussions were carried out in polite language and evidence of good vocabulary could be clearly seen.

Each one of the candidates excelled in their slot and was sincere in what they did during the two days I was at Hyderabad Public School.

All in all it was a pleasure to see Oakridge in action. Three students won the Best Delegate awards and one an honorable mention
