INVITATION FOR THE SEMINAR ON INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

Dear  Friends,

On behalf of  Oakridge International School,  Counseling & Supportive Instruction unit,  I  invite  you  for  the seminar  on ‘ Critical issues and current status of Inclusive Education’  on  Tuesday, November 15^th 2011 between 9.00 a.m to 11.30 a .m.

This event is being organised as part of the ‘  Special Learning needs ‘ week  being held from 14^th November to 18^th November 2011 at Oakridge International School, Newton Campus, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. This is an annual event  conducted for promoting  awareness  about special learning needs and learning disorders  for our teachers, students and parents.

This year, the seminar is intended especially for school administrators, special educators, remedial instructors  and school psychologists  working in integrated schools,  inclusive classrooms and schools with resource rooms in the city.

This is a great opportunity for all  professionals  in the field of SEN to come together and share their ideas and experiences.

The seminar aims to highlight critical issues in mainstreaming children with SEN in schools. With the universalization  of elementary education recommended by the RTE act (2009), there is a need to create awareness about special learning needs and  to equip teachers  with skills for effective instruction in inclusive classrooms.

To ensure a equitable and humane school environment,  we also need to address reactions such as denial, intolerance and stigma towards these children  which deprive them of  available remedial services and evolve strategies to optimally develop their learning potential and emotional  needs.
