Parent Talk

 

Mrs Padma Karpe, Guardian of Neal Karpe, obliged us by accepting the invitation of coming to the School and interacting with students of Grade 8 E. On 11^th Nov, She enlightened us on the importance of discipline in regular life and shared with us some personal thoughts. She encouraged kids to do their own work and be self sufficient. She also expected them to be caring and loving. The interaction was a success as the students reacted positively and vowed to undo the mistakes. Some of the students took the resolution of waking up early and complete their tasks sincerely. The interaction created a close and cordial bond between the parent and the students. It was a great opportunity for us as Mrs. Padma Karpe took the initiative to come and talk to the students about the topic which has a great importance in everyone's life because "Discipline makes a man". She created a conducive atmosphere which helped in free flow of thoughts and without being dictated, students understood the importance of discipline in their lives.

 

On 11th Nov , Apoorva Polisetty's mother, Shubha Polisetty gave the class 8 C an enlightening talk on "Values" in the Class teacher's time period between 8.40am- 9.15am in the form of a PPT. She namely spoke of values, a student's values, the world around a student & their responsibilities.She stressed on values being' those ideas & beliefs that we hold special as special.' A student's core values namely being ' be the best you can', be ethically unyielding &honest,value others, value differences- Don't bully others, focus & pay attention to relationships- spend time with your parents, your grandmother & your parents grandmother too!'.She also emphasized on not succumbing to peer pressure be it in the form of owning a new gadget,wearing something, asking someone out, different ways to communicate with your parents- by smsing, sending emails.. talking helps if you are upset...at present as a student make use of all opportunities to develop self, establish boundaries, & last but not the least ' exercise care while dealing with new situations & mediums.

Shubha also showed a couple of videos on Attitude – ‘Finishing strong’ & 1 degree makes the difference (the water boiling & turning to steam at 212 degrees).

All in all it was a very interesting session with a strong message to the present generation. We hope to have many more sessions with Shubha & other parents in the future.

 

On Friday 11^th November, Mr. Sakotai spent his valuable time in class 8A for a guest lecture. He spoke about our future and how our choices in every stage of our life would affect our future.

All of us aspire to be great people in the society but we never thought that every decision will have an impact on our career and life. He interacted with the class effectively, expressing the fact that we should make choices intelligently for career satisfaction and fulfillment. He advised us to make choices and tackle circumstances wisely and never compromise on our self respect. Mr. Sakotai also shared that life is a package deal and one can’t have life without ups and downs. Therefore, it is essential that we prepare ourselves for every situation in life.

As teens we make mistakes but we have to fix them. These are the learning that will help us live life with integrity and happiness. We have to deal with every situation confidently with integrity and be optimistic. Everyone’s career choice must be taken into account with their aptitude and interest. It is essential to be a person of integrity and be happy.

With all these values, a child can enjoy adult life with happiness. Our future lies in our hands just awaiting to be moulded and shaped into perfection. So just play a bit, mould it into the shape you like for the best.

Mr. Sakotai readily accepted our invitation to interact with the teens of 8A. In his interaction on 11^th November at 8.45 a.m. he emphasized on the values of life which would make a person happy and satisfied. He was able to make the students realize the importance of integrity and to develop leadership qualities. He stated that wise decisions and choices along with integrity would enable a person to be a role model in the family, neighbourhood and in the society as a whole. The students had a thought provoking session and are enthusiastically awaiting for another session.
