Sitting down after a busy day I wonder, Why do adults do so much for kids whose attention span might not be more than 20-30 minutes??? The extent parents and teachers go to make the day of a 3-6 year old kid is amazing. These are the same kids that can get happy with a piece of candy and get sad when their favorite toy falls in Mud.
ReplyDeleteWhy do we then make so much effort. I watched my kid, eat, drink, have fun in the class. A few moms prepared and got a some snacks, played a few songs, spoke about their kid, played a few games. Then watched her enjoying the cultural activities presented by Parents and teachers. She pointed at the stage suggesting I go and perform as well, while I nodded. Next time perhaps I thought.
Went back to class and had some more snacks (Yeah you read it right). Walking out of the school with her, she prancing in her pretty dress, she asked a Rhetoric question"Aaj kitna maza aaya na" (wasn't today fun). Oh well!!! that made my day. And it also answered my question. This day might not be her birthday, Might not be a festival, but a day that felt Special to her and for her and these fond memories will be forever engraved in her heart and head.

Very thoughtful of Oakridge to involve parents in children's day celebrations. Sam was very excited and contributed in the making of halwa for Mom's potluck and this brings me great joy!!! I got an opportunity to get to know more about Sam's classmates and their families with this event and definitely enjoyed the different snacks and wonderfull perfomances. Thanks for having me. Well Done!!! Julia (Sam's Mom, PP2E)
