' You become what you believe you are' was the message inherent in the story narrated by the Principal, Capt.Bajaj in the Monday morning assembly. The story goes like this : an eagle's egg is hatched in a chicken farm. The eagle is raised to be a chicken and it believes it is nothing more than a chicken. Each time it wishes to fly it is told by the other chickens that it cannot. The eagle continues to live the life of a chicken till its end.
Capt.Bajaj spoke on the necessity for children to understand themselves to help them discern what is right or wrong. Leadership he said is about 'influence' and it is important that one associates with people who inspire and guide us in the right direction. Students are impressionable and prone to external pressures from their peers and also the digital media. It is for the students to prioritise and make the right choices in life.
Capt.Bajaj also spoke on the F1 Grand Prix that India is hosting. It is a proud moment for us he said and a matter of honour and privilege.
India also witnessed the birth of the 7 billionth baby on the 31 of October.Demographic projections show that by 2030 India will be the most populous nation crossing China. It is important that students keep themselves informed of what is happening around them not just as a matter of information but to reflect and act on doing something meaningful to make a positive contribution to society.
I am sure these little interactions during the Assemblies help the student community a lot in developing a positive attitude that affirms the school's vision and their own aspirations.
