The Genius Hour session in creative
drama for Grade I students empowered the students to become script writers,
where the students had to create their own stories from their drawings. Students
participated in this activity with lot of enthusiasm and their imagination knew
no boundaries.
Students created detailed drawings
and told stories with emphasis on all aspects of the story, the characters and
emotions etc. Some examples of their stories are:
Adam –“Species in the Space”
Ahaana – “My Jungle Book”
Vainavi – “Hansel and Gretel”
in her Perspective
Yatin – “The Magical House”
This session was one of the Theatre
Exercises which help students to create their brainchild characters and stories
from their own drawings thus building their confidence, imagination and creative
skills. Later on, they create a script and enact it.
