Training in Diplomacy — The MIT MUN Training Session

The students at Oakridge Newton campus have the distinction of representing the MIT MUN for the past three consecutive years and every year the interest and passion for participation among students has only grown. This year, we have a large group of 15 students attending the MIT MUN at Boston.

The students had the privilege of attending a training session by Ms. Noga Feinburg, the Secretary General for MIT MUN 2014. The session was held in Hyderabad on January 6, 2014. The 2-hour session covered aspects related to training the delegation for the conference.

Noga Feinberg is a Junior studying Economics with a minor in Mathematics. After attending conferences throughout high school, Noga came to MIT and served as head-chair of UNDP 2012 before serving as COO for MITMUNC 2012 and 2013. Besides MITMUNC, Noga sits on the executive board of the MIT Live Music Connection.

In the words of a student, Tvisha Mehta, who is going for the conference for the second consecutive year:

"The session shed a completely new light on the conference. Ms. Noga gave us a wonderful insight into her MUN experience and what we as delegates should do to make the most of this experience and do our very best.  As she was previously the Chair of the UNDP at MIT MUN 2012 , She used her knowledge as Chair and shared a great deal of information with us about what exactly a Chair looks for in a delegate and how we can achieve this; more importantly, she told us what qualities a Chair would not appreciate in a delegate. Noga was more than willing to share any information we needed and answer any questions we had, however silly they seemed.

This session with Noga was extremely insightful and motivating for us to try our best and make the most of the experience. Noga was very cooperative and extremely enthusiastic about spending time with us. This is what made the session with Noga extremely entertaining, informative and special for each and every one of us."
