We
visited Vivekananda Vidyalaya on February 4, 2014. I and my partner (Suhas)
taught English. These visits are really helpful to us because we learnt that
one should be gentle while communicating with young learners so that it is easier
for them to master the language and be effective communicators. My suggestions
for the people going for CAS: Do not be partial to anyone and be confident in
whatsoever you plan to share; You should have people who can speak different
languages in your group just in case the kids that you are teaching don’t speak
the same language as you do. Amisha

Our
purpose was to improve the kids’ communication and social skills. I, as a
teacher for 2 hours, found it a hard job. But the easy part was communicating
with them in Telugu and Hindi. I and my friend Sadhvika were teaching 2nd Graders.
We prepared worksheets, crosswords, and word searches for them. In the next CAS
visit, I want to explain to the kids that CAS is to give students the means to
learn new experience and how to take action in the service of others. Varsha Devulapalli
“A kind gesture can reach a wound that only
compassion can heal”. Our main purpose was to help the underprivileged and
share our knowledge. We gave them the confidence and self-motivation that it is
not about your physical appearance or your background, but it is about how you
are inside — this was a gift forever. With our team spirit, we taught them many
subjects like Art, English, Math, Sciences, Sports and many more. We suggest
all the children of our school to take CAS seriously and help in making the
world a better place. On my next visit, I would make more worksheets and plan
more activities. Akanksha Agarwal
Our
main idea was to teach the kids how to play cricket, get better in this sport,
and gain physical ability. This can be useful to the kids in the future because
they could want to be future cricketers and they also need physical education. Next
time, we would like to help them improve further in developing stamina, having
team spirit, and collaborating to play cricket better. Srikar Rairao
