CAS Reflections of Grade 8F Students

Oakridge’s Grade 8F students went to Joy Land School, Hydershakote for CAS on 30th January, 2014. Following are some reflections:

The students were really cooperative and were open to learning new ideas. We taught the students of Grade I how to draw and colour landscapes. They drew mountains, rivers, gardens, and many other beautiful landscapes. We provided them with clay, crayons, and papers for colouring. The students also modelled clay and made bouquets, cakes, and houses; they were very confident in explaining how they made them. Some of them were very good and had the potential to become artists.

The group that I was in consisted of Laila, Tanya, and Shruthi. We planned to show them a few experiments about topics that they know and then explained General Science. The students then performed each experiment with great enthusiasm. The students there loved reading books, so I suggest that they could have a small library with books.

Our group of 8 boys taught the Grades of 7, 8, 9, and 10 on various types of writing, grammar, algebra and so on. CAS helped me to build confidence — we students had a chance to be teachers and connect with students of various backgrounds. For the students of Joy Land School, I believe that it was a very fruitful experience as the information shared could greatly help them in the future.
