Being
a part of the group working on “Diseases and Disorders,” I thought of taking a sustainable
action in spreading awareness about the hot summer: It is important that we
keep ourselves well hydrated to avoid dehydration. It’s imperative to eat well-balanced
meals interspersed with lime water, glucose, fresh juices, chilled smoothies,
ice tea, coconut water and the like.
The
sweltering heat is here — it’s time to bring out linen and cotton clothes out
from the closet. White and other light colors look very soothing in this
weather. It’s important to stay indoors especially between 10 AM to 4 PM during
summer as the sun is at its peak. During summer, swimming pools look very
inviting and offer respite from heat. This is also the time when air conditioners
are used to full capacity. Also, one should take an umbrella or a cap to protect
oneself from the hot sun.
