We, the students of Food Adulteration
Group, wanted to put our learning into action. Therefore, we thought it would be
best to orient our teachers about it — everyone gave inputs and ideas to
make this program phenomenal. We all finally agreed to have a PPT for the introduction,
a few experiments to have a good interaction, and finally a game to check their
learning.
A few of us started
working on the PPT; some of us drafted the experiments and; a pair of us
planned the game. As soon as we finished our work, four students accompanied
our teacher to meet the PYP Coordinator and tell her our plan. She loved the
ideas and also had a few inputs to improvise it. We sketched out the real plan
and activities. Finally, the day came — we, the volunteers, put our plan into
action. As the teachers filed in one by one, we took their signatures to check
if all of them were present.
Our PPT went quite well
and the teachers were eager to know more about the adulterants in food. As we
winded up the PPT, we got to the experiments. The teachers were very
appreciative and enjoyed the experiments thoroughly. Then, all the teachers
were able to play the game very well, which means they understood all the
concepts we explained to them.
We concluded this program
on a great note and made everyone more aware of food adulteration.
