The specific teaching objective of the Primary Resource Center is clearly guided by the IBOs Primary Years Programme (PYP) in developing the IBO Learner’s Profile. That is, the students as learners are encouraged to become: Inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, risk-takers, open-minded, caring, balanced and reflective. In particular the objective is to support the statement: “We want our students to become Inquirers”.

The library has celebrated the PYP Profile Week actively through Book Talk. In the library books according to the Profiles were displayed. Students of Grade 4, 5 and 6 selected the books and spoke about the Profiles. The students of Grade 5A, Grade 5H, Grade 6A and Grade 6F showcased their profiles in different ways; 5A through Role Play, 5H story writing and identifying the profiles of the characters of the story, 6A performed a skit, whereas 6F showcased Chart Work called “Book Worm Profiles”.

The students appreciated the learning of profiles through books and realized that profiles can be developed by reading. At the end, the students promised to live with the IB Learner profiles and Attitudes.
