The Chairman’s Cup — April 2014



The 10th, 11th and 12th Rounds of the Chairman’s Cup were held on the 21st April for Grades 7 and 8. These were the last two rounds for the academic year and the students participated with enthusiasm and gusto.  

Round 10 — Grade 8
The topic for Round 10 was “Should cosmetic surgery be banned?” The students came up with interesting ideas and arguments.  They spoke convincingly on the topic.

The First place was won by 8J represented by Akshat and Rushil.


The Second place was won by 8H represented by Abhinandan and Pradyoth.

Round 11 — Grade 8
The topic for Round 11 was “Should animal testing for scientific research be banned?” All the participants expressed their opinions with confidence and conviction. A lot of research went into the topic and participants were vocal about their opinions.  

8G represented by Meghana and Mujtaba were the Winners of this round.



8J represented by Vasundhara and Shreya came Second.
8H represented by Karthik and Raza came Third.

Round 12 — Grade 8
The topic for Round 12 was “Should parents monitor their children’s online and mobile communication”?  This topic resulted in a hot debate with students of the firm opinion that parents should not monitor online communication. 

8J represented by Preetham and Sanjana were the Winners of this round. 



The First Runners-up were 8G represented by Sathya and Chitin.
The Second Runners-up were 8H represented by Tanika and Shravya.

The debate for Grade 8 was compèred beautifully by Pooja and Divita who encouraged and cheered their classmates. 

A big “Thank You” to Ms. Farida for judging the debate for Grade 8 and for providing students with valuable inputs. 


Round 10 — Grade 7
Grade 7 had three Rounds of the Chairman’s Cup and saw stiff competition between the Grades. The topic for Round 10 was “Should there be a ban on child performers in talent shows?” Students were of the mixed opinion that talent must be encouraged but with parental restriction. 

7G represented by Vedika and Agnika were the Winners of this round. 


 
The Second place went to 7H represented by Likitha and Preethi.
The Third place was won by 7F represented by Dev Aryan and Rohan.
The Fourth place was won by 7J represented by Hridaya and Ishikha.

Round 11 — Grade 7
The topic for Round 11 was “Is bi-lingual education beneficial to students?” Many students agreed that bi-lingual education was of great importance to students who were proficient in many languages.

The First place was won by 7G represented by Jaishnav and Rishi. 



The Second place was won by 7F represented by Mitul and Naman.
The Third place was won by 7H represented by Sarani and Varsha.
The Fourth place was won by 7J represented by Rohan and Chandralekha.

Round 12 — Grade 7
The 12th Round of the Chairman’s Cup was keenly contested. The topic for the debate was “Should recycling be made compulsory”?

The First place was won by 7H represented by Abhinav and Tarun.



The Second place was won by 7G represented by Abyudhaya and Kavya.
The Third place was won by 7F represented by Rithvik and Samhitha.
The Fourth place was won by 7J represented by Om Das and Srikar.

The debate for Grade 7 was compèred beautifully by Aishwarya and Preethi who encouraged and cheered their classmates. 

The debate was judged by Ms. Shvetha who provided students with useful inputs and suggestions.
