CAS Activity — Students’ Reflections of 8J

On February 6, 2014, Grade 8J visited Joy Land School for the second time of the year. I taught English to 3rd graders. It was a challenge in the beginning, but I found a way for them to learn and have fun at the same time. This trip was very useful as it helped me to understand the needs of underprivileged pupils and I became much more concerned for them. I couldn’t imagine anything better than CAS to help the pupils become more responsible and innovative.

We went to Joy Land School for our CAS Activity. We had to pair up and teach different Grades from 1 to 10. My partner and I taught Art in Grade 2 consisting of about 30 children. All the kids were really talented but one child was good enough to be the next Picasso. After all of them drew their pictures and settled down, we started playing games, singing, and dancing with them. Each and every one of the kids was extremely spirited and fun. The CAS activity taught us the joy of lending a helping hand — this is an extremely effective activity and I can't wait for the next one!
