Learning Metric Measures — Capacity, Mass, Length

Students inquired about different measuring instruments using scale, tape, measuring cups, and weighing machine with weights. The acronym (King Henry Died Because of Drinking Chocolate Milk) was very well received and learning happened beautifully for the Units of the Metric System (Kilo, Hecto, Deca, Basic Unit, Deci, Centi, Milli).

Students used measuring scale and tapes to find the length of various objects like tables and books. The units of measurement of length like metres, centimetres, feet, inches, etc., were explored which enriched their knowledge in measurement.

The capacities of liquids measured in litres and millilitres were explored using the measuring cups. Students also learnt about the units of measurement of mass (Grams, Kilograms) and understood that liquids can be measured differently than solid materials.
