Curriculum Day –Grade 1

Curriculum Day –  was a delightful experience for the  parents as they  were invited to  be a first grader and experience how the students  are taught in a PYP set up,teachers shared strategies and did a couple of activities and energizers to bring in the understanding of how our classroom looks like.
Parents participated whole heartedly that mimicked their classroom environment. The session started off with a quiz about the school and PYP. .. The session then moved on to the Math Learning engagement which comprised of Number system with base ten and place value and English Learning Engagement –Magic, blends, digraphs and popcorn reading comprehension were a part of Language arts.
Debate-“ Technology(ipad) a boon or a bane”  Most parents felt that  technology ( ipads) should be introduced in Grade 1.many parents volunteered to be a class mom /Dad and they were excited to be teacher assistant ( parents as para professional)
Parents  appreciated the curriculum day and  felt that attending such workshops helped them keep abreast of the teaching methodology in school. It was a wonderful, positive encouragement for all our teacher’s
Overall, it was a great learning experience for both the parents and the teachers.
The attendance. rating and the feedbacks are positive and impressive. The team work got the day going smoothly and made it a huge success.
