As student, we all ponder upon our future after high school and future careers. Although we think and imagine about our future many a time, it is hard to give a concrete decision what should we be doing in the future and what career we are willing to pursue. Hence, in order to resolve this complication, Oakridge International School had conducted career session for the students of Grade X, XI, and XII on 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st July, 2011.

The orientation was given by One Step Up an organization formed by the alumni group of IIM. They gave us the presentations on various careers both in science and humanities. Throughout the sessions, they had explained as many careers as they could with their own experience. Moreover, they had explained us about the variety of career choices, with the example of various types of coffee in one café shop. The entire session was fun and interesting.

During the session, we got to see the videos of real professionals, such as doctor, photographer and journalist in which we learned how they carry out their job in daily life. Moreover, we could listen to their advices as well. Through the presentations made by the instructors, we were informed about the universities related with certain careers, related courses in college and finally ways to obtain certain careers.

Finally, through these sessions of 3 days, all of us could plan out our future in a better and brighter way. For myself, these sessions not only made me to be aware of where I am standing at the moment in my life, and what I am supposed to be doing to acquire what I want to be in the future hence encourage me to thrive, but also be aware of different interesting careers which I may take as my options.
