Grade II Field Trip to Chowmallah Palace

As we all know that here at Oakridge it is accepted that relevant, first-hand experiences are an essential component of a basic education. These experiences are used to enhance learning and to supplement the other available resources .The mixed bag of experiences a field trip provides is one of its kind.

Going through their expedition from past to present, grade II children took a field trip to Chowmallah palace. All the discussions earlier done, within the four walls of classroom, suddenly came to life when they virtually saw how things were in past. Their perception of changes in lifestyle reached a different elevation after having a glance at the exhibits.

Few reflections by Grade 2 Learners:

“The place got its name “CHOWMALLAH Palace” as the four palaces are joint together. I saw the costumes worn by the kings and the queens, the weapons they used were really sharp. “ - Joshita { 2 J}

“we observed a giant dining table where 30 people could sit and eat at a time. There was a large durbar hall where the king used to take his meetings.”- Mihika {2 J}

“We saw the clothes that they used to wear and the weapons they used for wars. There was a knife which was very sharp.” - Anushka Arun { 2 B}

“We saw many things like clock tower, clothes and a secret door covered with a picture of king and prince.” - Viraj { 2 B}
