Grade IX CAS Activities

For today’s activity, the students of IX G went to a school in Manikonda Village to teach the students various subjects such as Math, Music, Drama, Dance, and Fitness. We spent two hours teaching children of ages 5 and up. The children became engrossed in the activities and learned many valuable skills.
We started off by dividing ourselves into groups and taking over subjects we were best at. The dance group taught one Western and one Eastern dance. The students seemed to enjoy it very much, and the wide grins stretching across their faces showed it! The children performed some dances they had previously learned for us and taught us these numbers as well.
Meanwhile, in the music group, the children sang songs which they already knew and we joined in with them. Later, we taught them the basics of classical music. For the drama lessons, we mimicked many different actors and the children put forth their views on these celebrities.
A group of 5th graders were instructed in multiplication and subtraction, which enhanced their arithmetic skills. The fitness group demonstrated various exercises to the children, including Kung Fu!
Overall, this experience had truly inspired us to interact with people like these lovely children. Their energy and enthusiasm for learning mad this trip one we will never forget!
