Parent Involvement in Inquiry

In connection to Grade 3’s present Unit of Inquiry “ORGANISATION”, students went beyond their classroom doors and got to know how real organisations work in the world. Parents from different walks of life were invited to the class to share their views and precious experience with the kids on their queries.  Students eagerly awaited their presence as they made their questionnaire for the interview based on the lines of inquiry.

The parents were taken aback by the knowledge base and readiness of the students. The children were extremely keen to know what the parents have in store for them. The parents’ efforts to bring down their answer to the children’s level were indeed commendable. The entire team of students and parents gelled so well with each other that the teacher took a back seat and felt proud of her students’ level of maturity and independence in conducting the sessions. Parents from varied organisations like IT, Indian police, bank, hospital and many more graced our classrooms. Needless to say that these sessions were a grand success for both, the host and the guest  enriching and enlightening each other and leaving an impression on the other that would last for a long time to come.
